Recap of Dinosaurs week and peek at a short week!

Hi there sweet friends! 🙂  I am sorry I am late getting this up late…the past week has been crrrazy!  I know we rode that crazy train together so no excuses, but it was also parent teacher week! ha! We had an early out Thursday for conferences and no school Friday or today {Monday}, and we have a professional development day on Tuesday!  Needless to say that is why I haven’t been in a huge hurry, but I feel for those of you already back at it this week!  OH, and we finally got some real snow in Missouri! – -happy dance!

So, yes last week was our valentine’s day party and I just loved their boxes……

And a parent brought these in for the kiddos….yep, the drooled all day over them!
So, back to the reality of teaching!  Last week was our close read on dinosaurs!  I’m always amazed at how much I learn on each of these close reads …and before next dinosaur week I need to practice my dino name….yikes!  You can download these plans by clicking below!

Here is a look at our bubble chart…

and our weekly vocabulary….

And a peek at our dinosaurs could/had/were chart!

In math this past week we worked on numbers to 100 and using the hundreds chart!  For this activity the kiddos dropped two bingo chips onto their chart.  I then had them count from the smaller number to the larger number!

In writing we worked on writing friendly letters!  I posted this earlier last week, but if you missed it you can snag this fun interactive friendly letter and poster freebie below! 🙂

This week we will be reading President’s books and watching some Brain Pop Jr videos to celebrate President’s day! You can click below to view these plans!

I’ll be back soon with a little guided reading FUN! 🙂
