A Classroom Tour {freebie included}

Hi friends!  I hope you are having a nice start to the weekend!  I am so excited to let you know that this will be my sister’s first year teaching Kindergarten in our district!  However, it’s not completely her first year because she taught Kindergarten last year at a private school.  I shared pictures from my classroom last summer.  I didn’t change much so I thought I would share with you pictures of her room.   She is not completely done yet but it’s coming together! Click {here} to view my post about my classroom this time last year!

My sister is going with the Boho Birds theme!  She painted all of her bulletin boards turquoise and they really turned out great.  I have fabric covered bulletin boards.  I really like them but I do worry about putting too many holes in them with stapling 🙂

Below are some more detailed snapshots of her room.

Number path of movement posters!  Print these out and attach to colored paper, laminate, and display!  See below for the freebie!

Reading Helpers bulletin board.  The posters can be found {here}.
Calendar Wall

Whole Brain Teaching classroom rules posters.  They are freebie from First Grade Fever.

Really Good Stuff neon blue and green student book tubs.
Freebie good listen posters from First Grade Fever!
My sister’s husband made this for her!  It’s super cute writing center/library combined.  The baskets are all from the Dollar Tree!  She will use the baskets for her Daily 5 word works and store her Daily 5 work on writing folders.
Classroom library: The back side of the writing center has a bench.

Classroom community bulletin board: each student will have a bird cut-out.
This is her word wall.  The “whiteboard” used to be a green chalkboard.  It now has been covered using contact paper purchased from Lowes.  The district follows Journeys so these are the matching Alphafriend cards!

Alphafriends alphabet strip.

Math tubs {purchased from Dollar General}.  Grab the freebie math tub labels from me {here}.  At the bottom are her manipulative tubs.  Grab a copy of the freebie labels {here}.

“Tweet Work” student displayed word bulletin board.  She hot glued the bird cutouts to clothes pins and then hot glued those to the bulletin board.

She of course has more to {don’t we all}.  She does have one for sure thing she will be getting ready!  That is her ten frame posters!  See below of them displayed in my classroom.

Be quick……..

UPDATE: I have emailed the first 5 to respond!

Click {here} to view the ten frames on TpT.  The sell for $3.

If you haven’t already be sure to comment by clicking on the link below for a chance to win $100 credit in my TpT store! P.S. the giveaway ends at midnight August 3rd!

  1. I bet you're happy your sister is working in the same district. My sister and I work in the same school. And, this year, we have adjoining rooms! Quick question for your sister…I am using Journeys this year too. I have the little alphafriends cards (the ones she is using as word wall headers.) But, I don't know if I have the larger ones (the ones she hung above the white board.) Can you ask her if she made them herself? Thanks!
