Pre-K Centers (and a giveaway)

Hey all and thank you so much for hopping over to see me!  Today I will be sharing all about my brand new Pre-K centers!  These centers have been on my list forever and to finally be able to bring them to you makes me so happy!  I get emailed a lot from Pre-K teachers that are desperate for appropriate Pre-K materials!  I think Pre-K teachers are complete SAINTS to start with to work with out littlest learners but then to constantly take kinder curriculum and knock it down a few notches– well they are SUPER SAINTS!

In today’s post, I will take you through the first 9 of the center packets!  I will also be hosting a Pre-K giveaway at the end of the post so be sure to keep an eye out for that!

Before I get too far into the post, I would like to take a couple of moments and explain these centers and the range of students that can benefit from them!  The Pre-K themed literacy and math centers bundle included 25 themes and a total of 250 centers WOOT!!!!  Each of the themed center packets include 5 literacy centers and 5 math centers!  Each of the centers come with an “I Can” card, recording sheet and a self-check sheet!  Along with these included sheets, each bundle also comes with teacher observation check lists!  This is perfect for teachers and aides that need documentation for student work!

What is included?

– 25 THEMED packets
– 125 total literacy centers
– 125 total math centers
– 5 Pre-K LITERACY centers and 5 Pre-K MATH centers per theme. That is 10 centers per theme!
– Themes include: hands-on centers, recording sheets, teacher checklist skill trackers, “I can” cards and self-checking sheets!

The Pre-K centers are not just for Pre-K students!  Let’s take a quick walk through kindergarten!  Have you ever had a kiddo or group of kiddos that just struggle through the year… the rest of the class is on CVC words and they are still working to master their alphabet.  It’s at no fault of their own but they just aren’t able to keep up!  As teachers we work hard to provide fun activities for all of our kiddos but if they aren’t able to use the kinder centers then what do we do?  These centers are PERFECT for these kiddos!  It’s important that I note that the only place Pre-K” is mentioned is on the cover!  None of the student material is listed with Pre-K!  Along with kinder students, ELL and SPED students across the grade levels can also benefit greatly from these centers!  All kiddos love learning and especially when the material they are learning with is on their level!

Now before you get too far into the post– I have a video for you!  Sometimes we are more auditory learners than visual!  I hope this video helps to show the centers in action along with explaining them!

Now let’s head into each of the center themes!  Up first is Colors!

Colors

Colorful Letter Match- in this activity the students will match the two parts of each letter.  Students can self-check their work by creating the colorful objects.  Students also have the check-it sheet to make sure they have the correct answers!  Students will follow up with a recording sheet!

A Box of Rhymes- in this activity the students will have the “I can” card to guide them in sorting the crayons to the correct rhyming crayon box.  Students will follow up with a recording sheet!

Radiant writing mats- students will practice writing and/or building their letters.  Students can use dry-erase markers, playdoh, wikki stix, etc!

Vivid name sequencing- in this center the students will build their names by completing the puzzle!  There are name plates included for students to use as a reference!

Rainbow Bright Names- students will sort the letters for the ones that are and are not in their names!  Students can use the name plate as a reference!

Students will record their answers on the follow-up sheets!  There are three versions of the recording sheet include!

Colorful Sequencing- students will work on sequencing the number sense puzzles!  The puzzles are available in 0-5 and 1-10 🙂

Included is a recording sheet for students to follow-up!

Radiant Rainbow Color Sort- students will sort the pictures onto the correct color mat!  This one is great for building those fine motor skills as well!

Students have the opportunity for follow-up work as well!

Radiant Number Writing- this center has a few different versions included!  Students will be working on counting and writing numbers to 5!

Colorful Shape Clip It- students will view the “real life” objects and then clip the matching shape!

A recording sheet for this center is included as well!

A Box of Numbers- in this activity the students will work on sorting the crayons by using their subitizing skills!

A follow-up recording sheet is included!

The Colors Themed Literacy and Math cents are part of the bundle but for a *limited time* I have released this a solo packet!  This is perfect for Kinder teachers wanting a set to start the year off in K!  This packet also works great for SPED and ELL classrooms!  You can snag the individual Color themed centers for $5 by clicking HERE or on the image below!

Let’s get into the next set of centers!  Let’s take a look at the School Cats centers!  Above I mentioned that each set of centers comes with checklists!  Below you can see an example of the checklists!  These are great for tracking student mastery of the skills covered in each set!

Beginning Sound Button Sort- in this center the students will work on the beginning sounds of letters: A-F.  The students will sort the buttons onto each mat.  The mat has both capital and lowercase letters to assist in recognizing the letter!

The students will have the option to follow-up the center with a recording sheet!

Colorful Clip It- the students will be matching the color word with each shoe!

This center has a recording sheet as well!

Rocking Rhymes- students will match the rhyming pairs and follow-up with a recording sheet!

Cool Cat Letter Match- students will work on matching lower to capital or capital to capital letters!  You will be able to choose the match that best fits your students at this time of the year!

Writing mats- there are two versions included (guided lines and blank).  This is perfect for building the letters or writing them!

Groovy Button Sort- students will sort the buttons onto the correct mats!  There are several mats included that work on sorting by color, shape and number of holes!

Just a reminder that each center comes with a self check it sheet!

This center also has a recording sheet!

Nifty Number Sense- students will work on matching the shoes using their number sense!  There are two versions included (fingers and ten frames).  You can put out just the numbers your kiddos are working on and then save the rest for later into the year!

Steppin’ Into Colors- students will match the correct colored object to the shoe!

Buttoning Up Numbers- students will roll the dot cube or number cube and place the matching number of “buttons” onto the mat!  You also have the option to use a differentiated cube with the included number cards!

Students have a follow-up independent sheet!

Up next are the Apple themed centers and I’ll be sharing an easy way to organize the centers as well!  I have decided to store my centers these awesome poly envelopes!  They are $15 for 24 on amazon!  You can snag them in a variety of colors and store 2 or more centers in each!  Below you can see how the center fits perfect into each envelope!

The envelopes have a secure “snap” that keeps all of the center items inside nice and snug!

The center header can even be left inside the envelope for students/teachers to view!

When it’s time to play the center, you can simply grab the items out!

Sortin’ Apples- in this center the students will sort letters and numbers!  There is an “I Can” card, self check sheet and recording sheet!

Beginning Sound Seed Sort- the students will work on letters Gg-Ll and sort the seeds onto the correct mat!

Super Seed Letter Sort- students can use the seeds or magnet letters to sort onto the included mats!  There are a few different mats included so that you can choose what works best!

Rhymin’ with Johnny- Students will match each of the rhyming pairs!

Sweet Apple Names- students sort the letters that are/are not in their names!

In the envelopes you can place two centers in it!  Face one towards the back and one towards the front!

Spin and Cover- Students will spin and then cover the letter!  There are a few different mats included so that you can choose what works best for your kiddos!

Here is the other side of the envelope with the matching math version of the game!

Numbers to the core- students will roll the number cube or dot cube!  Students will then place the matching number of “seeds” onto the mat.

Countin’ out seeds- Students will count each set of seeds and then open the flap to check their answers!

Yummy Apple Sort- students will sort the apples onto the variety of mats included!
