Guided Reading Part 2

My absolute favorite time of the day. . . .Guided Reading! 🙂  In this post I will chit chat about a few more aspects to my Guided Reading, introduce the new packet and a few bundles!
Above is my guided reading caddy. I really love that thing!  When I pull it out from the bottom shelf it’s time to get started!  I purchased it from Walmart last year {Sterilite brand}.  It has just enough room for everything I need.  In this photo you can see I have a crayon/pencil box, sound boxes, misc cards {see below}, dry-erase markers, and erasers.

Above are my sound boxes and phoneme segmentation highways.  Learn more about those in  THIS blog post!

These are all my “Secret weapons” during guided reading…not really, but they all do work marvelous wonders!

1. High frequency cards
2. Punctuation cards for fluency
3. Alphafriend cards {Journeys}
4. Nonsense word cards & sliders
5. Phoneme segmentation cards {freebie}

This is a snap shot of the bookshelf behind my guided reading table.  I have leveled guided reading books galore: below level, on level, ELL, above level, and vocabulary readers.  These books come with our reading series, Journeys.

Additional guided reading books sorted by DRA level.  I keep these in my filing cabinet for easy access.

Now to my newest guided reading packet!

    It's in fact very complicated in this full of activity life to listen news on Television, so I just use world wide web for that purpose, and get the most up-to-date information.

    I am jealous of your file cabinet. lol! I wish I had the space to have each additional book that I have in its own file folder (and have them labeled according to what DRA/ F&P level it is!). Genius. 🙂

    I love using Journeys! Your resources are a great addition to their curriculum. I am wondering where you get your guided reader printables that you have in your file cabinet? Are those the ones that come with Journeys?
