Valentine’s Centers

Hi there and happy Monday!  I wanted to take a quick minute to share with you my Valentine’s literacy centers!  Also, be sure to grab my freebie literacy center binder covers at the end of the post if you haven’t already grabbed them!

This literacy center packet has 5 engaging and true skill based activities- they are skills which my students are currently working on in the class at the moment! Up first?

Heart in The Middle

Students will use a dry
erase marker to write in the missing sound of the CVC word or use the second
version where students will write in all missing sounds.  The students will then record their answers on the corresponding sheet!

Valentine’s CVC Roll
Students roll the CVC cube, stretch out each sound slowly within the word. Then students will write the CVC word on the corresponding recording
sheet.

Buzzing Short & Long Vowels
Students sort the bee cards onto the short vowels or long vowels mat.  Then record answers onto the recording sheet.  To differentiate write the word on the back of each card so students can self-check and/or have assistance writing the word on to their recording sheet.

Heart Line Up

Students will pull a sight word card, then build that word
using the hearts.  Finally, record answers on the
corresponding recording sheet.
A
Chocolatey Real vs Nonsense Sort
Students pull a chocolate card and place it  on to the
correct mat- real or nonsense word.
Record answers on corresponding recording sheet.

The centers sell for $5.  Click below if you would like to check them out!
