In the “Take Out the Trash” game, the teacher reads a list of three words aloud (e.g., hat, mat, dog). Students must listen closely to hear which word does not belong. In this example, dog is the "trash" word because it doesn’t rhyme with the others. Kids love the concept of “taking out the trash” as a playful way to build rhyme discrimination skills.
