Students begin by placing magnetic letters on the arc in alphabetical order. Then, they select a picture card (e.g., cat), say the word, segment the sounds aloud (/k/, /a/, /t/), and pull down the corresponding letters to build the word. This hands-on phonics routine promotes phonemic awareness, orthographic mapping, and encoding skills.
