These CVC segmenting cards are a hands-on way to help students build strong phonemic awareness skills. Each card includes a picture clue and three dots for segmenting:
Green dot = beginning sound
Yellow dot = medial vowel
Red dot = final sound
Students look at the picture, say the word, and tap each dot as they segment the sounds. This color-coded approach gives a clear visual for breaking apart words and supports orthographic mapping and blending.
These cards can be used in small-group phonics, literacy centers, or one-on-one interventions to reinforce early reading skills.
