These Digraphs Chip and Swipe mats give students multisensory practice with common digraphs using the hand2mind letter chips and a magnetic wand. Students place chips for each sound in a word, then swipe them with the wand as they blend the sounds together to read the word. This hands-on activity is aligned with the science of reading and is perfect for small-groups or centers.
Example: chop → /ch/ (green chip), /o/ (yellow chip), /p/ (red chip)
Students say the word, map each sound with chips, and swipe to blend
