Unit 1 - ABCs

Make alphabet practice hands-on with these free Alphabet Chip It Printables! Students say the sound, read and trace the letter, then build the capital or lowercase letter with bingo chips for engaging phonics and fine motor practice.

Bring a hands-on element to alphabet practice with these free Alphabet Chip It Printables! Students work through a simple Say It, Read It, Trace It, and Chip It routine that combines letter-sound practice, letter recognition, letter formation, and fine motor work in one activity.

Each printable features a large letter filled with circles. Students place bingo chips on the circles to build the letter from top to bottom. Add a magnetic wand and students can swipe over the completed letter to pick up the magnetic bingo chips and clear their mat, which makes resetting for another round extra fun.

The visual directions across the top of each page make the routine easy for young learners to follow. Students first say the sound using the picture cue, read the focus letter, trace it with their finger, and then chip the large letter. With separate capital and lowercase pages for A-Z, teachers can target exactly the letters students are currently learning.

These printables work especially well laminated or inside dry-erase sleeves for repeated use. Set them out during phonics centers, fine motor centers, morning tubs, small groups, intervention, or independent alphabet practice.
