This free set of CVCE Sound Identification Cards builds phonemic awareness by helping students locate sounds within words. Each card includes a picture and a target sound. Students say the word aloud, then decide whether the sound occurs at the beginning (green), middle (yellow), or end (red) of the word.
The download also includes three versions of recording sheets, giving teachers flexibility for different levels of accountability. These cards can be used in small groups, as independent centers, or as part of intervention lessons.
