Writing Center!
Yay for Saturday! I wanted to share with you what we have been working on during our Daily 5 work on writing time. These activities could easily be used during whole group writing as well. Anyway, I really like “set” writing activities for their writing folders- that way I can be sure they are writing not just coloring gorgeous pictures the entire time! I do however, add simple letter id/sounds worksheets as well handwriting practice for those in class that need it.
Here are some pictures of the activities!
All students have a writing folder for Daily 5. When they complete an activity they turn it in for me to check! I used to have them take it straight their their cubby, but this holds them accountable for their work!
Activities
Sight word practice! I always place the weekly sight word practice sheets inside their folder!

Grocery List! Kids love to make list…especially making lists of their friends!
Kids have great writing ideas…sometimes they just need a starter! That’s why I love these picture starters.
Labeling is such an important concept for young learners!
Antonyms! My kiddos are assessed on their knowledge of antonyms… {yes I have to call them that too} So these writings are PERFECT for that, and they always turn out super cute!

I love your ideas! I have been wanting to start writing in my Kinder room and wasn't sure where to start. Thank you!
